Root Cause Analysis & Preventive Maintenance Scheme of 200T Open Back Power Press Slide Guide Abrasion Fault, Risk Control for Medium Tonnage Stamping Equipment This case analyzes the root cause, troubleshooting process, failure mechanism and long-term prevention strategy for slide guide wear failure of a 200T open back power press used for automotive connector blank stamping. The equipment adopts forced lubrication centralized oil supply system. After 28 months of continuous operation, partial lubrication branch blockage occurred due to oil deterioration and metal powder mixing. The lack of lubricating film between slide and guide rail created dry friction. Hard metal debris embedded in the sliding surface produced abrasive wear, increasing guide clearance. The sliding block lost motion straightness; eccentric load occurred during stamping. The consequence included abnormal vibration, knocking noise, fluctuating workpiece dimension and emergency shutdown alarms. The after-sales team adopted layered troubleshooting: noise source identification → guide clearance measurement → lubrication pipeline pressure test → slide disassembly inspection. Root causes were confirmed as lubricant contamination, pipeline blockage, missing regular debris cleaning and absence of oil flow feedback monitoring. Remediation actions included pipeline flushing, contaminated lubricant replacement, guide surface precision grinding, oil flow sensor installation and revision of customer maintenance SOP. Long-term preventive measures cover lubricant periodic replacement, magnetic filter installation in oil circuit, quarterly guide clearance testing and operator training for abnormal symptom recognition. This case provides a reference framework for diagnosing slide motion related faults and building robust preventive maintenance plans for mechanical stamping presses.
